Easy Homemade Cornbread Recipe

Serves: 16-20
Ingredients
  • 2½ Cups cornmeal
  • 1½ Cup flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 TSP salt
  • 4 TSP baking powder
  • 1 TSP baking soda
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 Cups heavy cream
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 Stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 TBSP Butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees & place cast iron skillet in oven to heat.
  2. In a large bowl or mixer, combine dry ingredients.
  3. Add milk, cream, eggs and mix.
  4. Add melted butter and mix.
  5. Remove the skillet from the oven.
  6. Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees.
  7. Butter skillet with the TBSP of unmelted butter.
  8. Pour cornbread batter into the skillet.
  9. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
  10. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
