Crockpot BBQ Beer Can Chicken Recipe

Serves: 8-10
Ingredients
Dry Rub:
  • ¼ Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Paprika
  • ¼ Cup Kosher Salt
  • ¼ Cup Black Pepper
  • ¼ Cup Garlic Powder
  • ¼ Cup Ground Thyme
  • 2 TBSP Onion Powder
  • 2 TBSP Cayenne Pepper
Other Ingredients
  • 1 14.9 OZ Can Guinness Stout Beer
  • 4 LB Whole Chicken
  • Four balls aluminum foil
Instructions
  1. Combine rub ingredients
  2. Place aluminum foil balls in the bottom of slow cooker
  3. Apply rub to chicken
  4. Pour beer into slow cooker
  5. Place chicken on top of foil balls
  6. Cook for 5 hours on low
  7. Add BBQ Sauce, gently brush onto chicken
  8. Transfer to oven safe pan
  9. Broil on high 2 - 5 minutes to crisp up skin
  10. Let rest for a couple minutes
  11. Side and serve with your favorite BBQ sides
