Deep Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly (PB&J) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 Loaf of Italian Bread, Thick Cut
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 4 OZ Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 2 TBSP Brown Sugar
  • Peanut Butter, spread per sandwich
  • Grape Jelly, spread per sandwich
  • Enough Oil to Fry, about 4 Cups minimum
  • Optional Cinnamon Sugar
Instructions
  1. Combine / whisk eggs and milk in bowl
  2. In separate bowl combine Panko and brown sugar with hands
  3. Make regular PB&J and dip into wash
  4. Then coat with Panko mixture
  5. Heat Oil in dutch oven or deep pot over medium high
  6. Cook each sandwich 30 seconds to 1 minute per side, flip with tongs
  7. Remove to paper towel lined dish
  8. Slice and serve
  9. Optionally top with cinnamon sugar
