This crockpot crockpot country style ribs recipe came about after a visit to Little Richard’s BBQ restaurant in North Carolina several years ago. My family and I were driving to Florida and decided to make a pit stop there for lunch.
My wife had never had North Carolina Style Vinegar BBQ sauce on her ribs before. Let’s just say, she devoured those ribs like there was no tomorrow. She raved over them and 6 years later, still says those were the best ribs she has ever had.
Since she still pines for those ribs, I decided to treat her to some country style ribs (also her favorite) with a similar vinegar based sauce. She often cooks her ribs in the slow cooker, and it’s so easy to just throw them in and forget about them for the day. So I just couldn’t resist using my awesome crockpot for this recipe!
These slow cooker bbq pork ribs are made with a homemade, NC style vinegar bbq sauce. If that’s not your preference, you can make your own homemade bbq sauce or use your favorite store bought variety.
If you haven’t tried this style, I suggest you give it a try. My slightly stubborn wife who swore she would never like or try a tangy sauce fell in love with it immediately. You might too!
