A good fruit salad is about the only way I can get my kids to eat fruit. Offer it to them plain and they snub their noses. Put it in a fruit salad, and voila! Instant hit!
Berries, oranges, peaches and grapes are combined with a delicious mint simple syrup!
Eat it as a fresh fruit side dish, top it with whipped cream or serve over cake or pie to enhance any dessert!

Fruit Salad Recipe with Mint Simple Syrup | How To Make Fruit Salad
- 1 Pint Fresh Blueberries
- 1 Pint of Fresh Blackberries
- 1 Yellow Peach, Chopped
- 1 Pint of Grapes, Sliced
- 1 15 OZ Can Mandarin Oranges Light Syrup, Drained
- 2 Sprigs (2 TBSP) Fresh Mint, Finely Chopped
- Juice from Canned Mandarin Oranges + water to make 1 Cup liquid
- ½ Cup Dark Brown Sugar
- Combine fruit in large bowl and set aside
- Combine brown sugar and water / mandarin orange juice in a small pot and cook on low heat until sugar completely dissolves
- Add Mint and bring to boil
- Lower heat (to a 2 or 3) and simmer for 5 minutes
- Set pot in refrigerator for 10 or more minutes to cool
- Remove syrup from refrigerator
- Optionally strain mint
- Pour syrup over fruit salad and gently mix to coat all fruit.
- Place bowl in refrigerator for a couple hours to allow fruit to macerate.
- Serve cold.
