This slow cooker pot roast recipe is the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for a Sunday dinner, an Easter meal or an ordinary family dinner that becomes extraordinary when you sit down to this crockpot recipe!
For this recipe, I used a chuck roast and added potatoes and carrots to the slow cooker. After hours in the crockpot, the meat was so tender and succulent. Absolutely delicious! I’m sure this will be a family favorite in your household!

Chuck Roast Crockpot Recipe: Slow Cooker Pot Roast
- 2.1 LBS Chuck Roast
- 1 Cup Flour
- 1 TSP Steak Seasoning
- 2 TSP Kosher Salt
- 2 TSP Black Pepper
- 2 TSP Cumin
- 2 TBSP Olive Oil
- 1 Medium Onion Chopped
- 2 TBSP Minced Garlic
- 1 Cup Tomato Juice
- 1 Cup Merlot
- 8 OZ Baby Carrots
- 8 Redskin Potatoes, Boiled & Rough Cut
- 1 Cup Beef Stock
- Dash of Worcestershire Sauce
- Combine roast, flour, steak seasoning, salt, pepper and cumin in a ziplock bag
- Shake to thoroughly coat roast
- Cook in hot skillet for 2 Minutes per side
- Move roast to slow cooker
- Lower heat in skillet to medium low
- Add oil, onion, and garlic to skillet cook 2 - 3 minutes
- Add juice and merlot
- Cook 2 -3 minutes
- Pour over roast in slow cooker
- Add carrots, potatoes, stock and Worcestershire sauce
- Cook 4 - 8 hours (the longer the more tender the meat)
- Remove roast and let rest 5 minutes or more
- Slice meat, and serve
