I love pancakes! It’s a favorite breakfast food in my family. I’m a big fan of chocolate too. Ok, a huge fan! So I decided to kick my pancakes up a notch and make the best homemade chocolate chip pancakes!
This is a simple made from scratch pancake recipe. Of course, it may seem easier to break out one of the boxed brands. But these chocolate chip pancakes are so easy to make and taste so good, you’ll forget about the store bought stuff. There’s nothing like homemade!
If you are trying to make this a vegan pancake recipe, make sure to use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips with no milk fat. I recommend serving these pancakes plain as syrup makes the pancakes a little too sweet. If you really want to top these I would go with a very light dusting of powdered sugar. How To Make Homemade Chocolate Chip Pancakes: Easy Pancakes From Scratch
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1 Pinch of Salt
- 1 TBSP Vanilla
- 4 TBSP Brown Sugar
- 2 TBSP Baking Powder
- 2 Cups Almond Milk (any milk)
- 8 TBSP Canola Oil
- 1½ Cups Chocolate Chips
- Combine all dry ingredients except chocolate chips, whisk until combined.
- Add Vanilla, Milk, 4 TBSP Oil, whisk until smooth.
- Add chocolate chips and whisk to combine.
- Heat skillet on medium-low heat.
- Add 4 TBSP Oil and cover skillet so pancakes don't stick.
- Pour half a ladle per pancake.
- Cook 3 - 4 minutes or until pancake bubbles and bottom turns golden brown.
- Flip and cook for additional 30 - 45 seconds.
- Serve warm.
