During the Summer BBQ season, one of my most popular requests are burgers on the grill! Hamburgers are pretty fantastic on their own, but something about a grilled burger with that charbroiled flavor just kicks it up a notch.
This recipe is simple. I don’t think you really need a lot for a good, tasty burger.
In addition to hamburger buns, I also used buttered, toasted English Muffins. The muffins really help to soak up the juices (I learned that little trick from watching my dad do it growing up). You can of course use regular buns if you prefer.
Add your favorite toppings to make these delicious hamburgers (or cheeseburgers) your own!

Hamburger Recipe (Grilled): Homemade Hamburgers On The Grill | Burger Recipe
- 2 LBS Ground Beef
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- TBSP Irish Butter per patty
- English muffins or hamburger buns per patty
- Cheese of your choice (optional)
- Form into hamburger patties
- Season each patty with garlic, salt and pepper
- Cook over direct heat 2 - 3 minutes per side
- Move to indirect heat cook to desired doneness
- Top english muffins or buns with butter and brown over indirect heat side
- Top with cheese slices (if you want a cheeseburger) and cook additional 30 - 40 seconds
- Serve with your desired toppings
